Aluminium Extrusion in China

Custom aluminium extrusion profiles produced in China

Aluminium extrusion in China — custom profiles without the custom-profile pain

A custom aluminium profile turns machining waste into near-net shape — and extrusion dies are cheap compared with almost any other tooling. P&A International manages extrusion programs through vetted partner plants in China: die design and trial, extrusion in 6063/6061 and architectural alloys, then cutting, machining, anodising and fabrication to finished parts.

One dedicated engineer reviews your profile for extrudability — wall balance, tongue ratios, screw bosses — before the die is cut, and owns quality from billet to boxed parts.

Extrusion services

Custom aluminium extrusion profiles in multiple shapes

Custom profiles

Solid, hollow and semi-hollow profiles to your section — dies typically from ~USD 800 and 2-3 weeks.

Aluminium extrusion press production line

Extrusion & temper

6063, 6061 and architectural alloys; T5/T6 tempers; mill, anodise-quality and powder-coat surfaces.

CNC machined aluminium extrusion component

Machining extrusions

Cut-to-length, drilled, tapped and CNC-machined features — profiles become finished components.

Anodised aluminium extrusion colour finish options

Anodise & finish

Clear, black and colour anodising, brushing, powder coat — with finish samples approved before production.

Heatsink profiles are a speciality — see the dedicated heatsink page for thermal work.

Engineering capability

  • Extrudability review: wall balance, tongue ratio, hollow class, die feasibility
  • Dies typically ~USD 800-2,500 with 2-3 week lead; first articles measured against profile drawing
  • Presses to 4,000 t across partner plants; circumscribed circles to ~350 mm
  • Alloys 6063, 6061, 6005, 6082; tempers T4/T5/T6
  • Precision cut-to-length, punching, drilling, tapping and CNC machining of profiles
  • Anodising (clear, black, colour), brushing, powder coating to RAL
  • Thermal-break and gasket assembly for architectural systems
  • Profile straightness, twist and surface checked against EN 755 / GB standards

Why engineers & buyers choose PA

For design engineers

Profiles fail at the die: unbalanced walls tear, sharp tongues wash out, and a section designed without extrusion knowledge costs you in scrap forever. Your engineer fixes the section on paper — usually in one review cycle — before any die steel is cut.

For purchasing

Low die costs make switching easy and quality the differentiator: partner plants vetted to ISO 9000 or better, finish samples signed off before volume, itemised pricing per operation, and one engineer who answers for the whole chain from billet to box.

3 easy steps to get started

1

Send the section

DXF/STEP of the profile, or the part it replaces — plus lengths, alloy and volumes.

2

Extrudability review + quote

Section feedback, die cost, per-metre and per-part pricing, finish options.

3

Die trial to delivery

First articles measured, finish samples approved, then production cut, machined and finished.

Applications

Enclosure bodies and rails, heatsink profiles, solar and battery mounting systems, LED housings, conveyor and framing systems, architectural sections and marine trim — extruded, machined, finished and delivered as components ready for assembly.

Extrusion or another aluminium route?

Constant cross-section changes everything — quick orientation:

Extrusion Constant cross-section parts — lowest tooling cost, near-net material use
Extrusion + CNC Profiles needing holes, pockets and milled ends — still cheaper than billet
Die casting Complex 3D geometry at volume — see aluminum die casting
CNC from billet Low volumes or geometry no profile can carry

What to send us for a fast, accurate quote

The more of this you can share, the quicker we can return a proposed profile and production plan and price:

  • Profile drawing (DXF ideal) or the part to convert
  • Alloy and temper, or the duty so we can propose
  • Cut lengths and tolerance; machining operations needed
  • Finish: anodise colour, brush, powder coat RAL
  • Annual volume and call-off pattern

Converting a machined or folded part to a profile often halves its cost — send the part and ask.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does an extrusion die cost?
Typically USD 800-2,500 depending on size and hollow class, with first articles in 2-3 weeks — among the cheapest tooling in manufacturing.
    What tolerance can extrusion hold?
Profiles are produced to EN 755-9 / GB dimensional standards; machined features added afterwards hold normal CNC tolerances where the profile alone cannot.
Can you match an existing profile?
Yes — send a sample or section drawing and the die is built to match, with first articles measured against the original.
    Which finishes are available?
Clear, black and colour anodising, mechanical brushing, and powder coating to RAL colours — finish samples are approved before production runs.
    What is the minimum order?
Trial runs from roughly 500 kg per profile are normal for new dies; production then scales to container volumes on call-off.
