Metal Fabrication in China — Sheet Metal, Welding & CNC

Custom metal fabrication in China managed by P&A International engineers

Engineering-led metal fabrication in China — one dedicated engineer from drawing to delivery

P&A International is an engineering-led contract manufacturer, founded as an engineering consultancy in 2008. We design, prototype and deliver custom metal fabrication — sheet metal, structural steel, welded assemblies, CNC-machined and stamped parts — through a vetted network of partner factories in China, every one of them ISO 9000 certified or better.

You deal with one dedicated engineer, not a trading desk. Your engineer reviews the drawings, selects the right fabrication route and the right partner line, manages tooling, first articles and inspection, and stays on your project through production and logistics.

Custom metal fabrication services

Precision sheet metal fabrication and forming in China

Sheet metal fabrication

Laser cutting, punching, bending and welded sheet assemblies in mild steel, stainless and aluminium — from single prototypes to volume production.

Welded steel fabrication for industrial equipment

Steel fabrication & welding

Structural and equipment-grade steel fabrication with qualified MIG/TIG welding, machining of weldments and protective coatings.

CNC machining of fabricated metal components

CNC machining

3-, 4- and 5-axis milling and turning — as a standalone service or to finish critical faces and bores on fabricated and cast parts.

Progressive metal stamping production in China

Stamping & forming

Hard and soft tooling, progressive dies and secondary forming for repeatable medium- and high-volume metal parts.

Every project is matched to the partner line best equipped for its process, material and volume — never forced through a single shop.

Engineering capability

  • Laser cutting to 25 mm mild steel, 12 mm stainless; CNC punching and profiling
  • CNC press-brake bending with documented bend allowances and tooling library
  • MIG / TIG welding to international standards, with weld-procedure and welder qualification records on request
  • CNC milling and turning of fabricated weldments and machined-from-solid parts
  • Progressive and stage stamping with custom progressive dies built at our partner toolrooms
  • Surface finishing: powder coat, wet paint, anodising, zinc and nickel plating, passivation, brushing
  • Welded and mechanical assembly, fastener insertion, packaging to your work instructions
  • Full dimensional inspection: CMM reports, material certificates and finish testing with every first article

Why engineers & buyers choose PA

For design engineers

Send a STEP file and a drawing and get back engineering, not a price list. Your dedicated engineer flags formability and weld-distortion risks, proposes cost-saving design changes before tooling is cut, and returns qualified prototypes with measurement data in 10-15 days. Design-for-manufacture feedback is part of every quote, not a paid extra.

For purchasing

One accountable contact, English-language documentation, and a partner network qualified so you do not have to audit factories yourself — every supplier in our network is ISO 9000 certified or better. Pricing is itemised (material, process, tooling, finishing), deliveries are inspected before they ship, and you keep full IP ownership of your drawings and tooling.

3 easy steps to get started

1

Send your drawings

STEP/IGES plus a 2D drawing with critical dimensions, material, finish and quantities. No drawing yet? A sample or sketch is enough to start.

2

Engineering review & quote

Your dedicated engineer reviews manufacturability, selects the fabrication route and partner line, and returns an itemised quote with DFM feedback.

3

Prototype, then production

Qualified samples with inspection data in 10-15 days. On approval, production runs under the same engineer with agreed quality documentation.

Applications

Our fabricated parts and assemblies ship into industrial automation, energy and battery storage enclosures, telecom and electronics housings, commercial lighting, transport and agricultural equipment, medical device frames and architectural metalwork. Typical work ranges from precision stainless brackets and EMI-shielded enclosures to fully welded, powder-coated equipment chassis delivered as tested assemblies.

Looking for a specific process? See our sheet metal fabrication services, steel fabrication and welding, and prototype-friendly sheet metal shop pages. If you are still comparing suppliers, our guide to choosing a metal fabrication company in China explains how PA de-risks the process. Related capabilities: CNC machining, metal stamping and aluminium fabrication.

Which fabrication route is right for your part?

The right process depends on geometry, material, tolerance and annual volume. As a quick orientation:

Sheet metal Enclosures, brackets, panels and chassis in 0.5-6 mm — fast tooling-free prototypes, economical at any volume
Steel fabrication Frames, weldments, machine bases and structural assemblies where strength and weld quality govern
CNC machining Tight-tolerance features, complex 3D geometry, or low volumes where tooling cannot be justified
Stamping High-volume repeatable parts where progressive tooling pays back within the first production year
Casting + machining Complex near-net shapes at volume — see our die casting service for aluminium, zinc and magnesium

What to send us for a fast, accurate quote

The more of this you can share, the quicker we can return a proposed fabrication route and price:

  • 3D model (STEP/IGES) and a 2D drawing with critical dimensions and tolerances
  • Material grade and surface finish (or ask your engineer to recommend)
  • Quantities: prototype, first production batch and estimated annual volume
  • Any welding, flatness or cosmetic requirements that govern acceptance
  • Target dates and delivery terms (EXW, FOB, DDP)

Incomplete information is normal at RFQ stage — send what you have and your engineer will fill the gaps with you.

    Frequently asked questions

Do you handle small prototype quantities?
Yes. Sheet metal and machined prototypes need no hard tooling, so one-offs and small batches are routine — qualified samples with inspection data typically ship in 10-15 days.
How do you control quality in a partner network?
Every supplier in our network is ISO 9000 certified or better, and your dedicated engineer adds project-level controls: first-article inspection with CMM data, material certificates, weld records where applicable, and pre-shipment inspection against your drawing.
Can you weld to international standards?
Yes. Welded fabrications are produced with qualified MIG/TIG procedures, and welder qualification and weld-procedure records can be supplied with the quality file on request.
Who owns the tooling and my drawings?
You do. Tooling you pay for is yours, identified and stored at the partner line, and your drawings are used only for your project under our supplier agreements.
    What finishes can you supply?
Powder coating, wet paint, anodising, zinc and nickel plating, passivation, brushing and silk-screening — finish samples and test reports are provided for approval before production.
